Practicing the dental arts is my way of using my particular gifts to give back to society and help people live healthier and longer lives. Having worked with so many unique people every day has enriched my life in more ways than I could have imagined. I am truly lucky to serve the families here!
Education and Continuing Education:
For my undergraduate degree, I attained my BS in Zoology from Washington State University, graduating Cum Laude. For dental school, I attended the University of Washington, graduating in 1978.
Although I have finished dental school, I know how important it is for me to stay on the cutting edge of research and technology. My continuing education is the best opportunity I have to ensure that I am providing our patients with the best services that dentistry has to offer. As a part of my continuing education, I am in an ongoing implant study club. I also take many hours of continuing education every year, and have taken well over a thousand hours of dental continuing education throughout my career!

In the Office:
It’s very gratifying to be able to be a part of changing our patients’ lives by what we do here in our office. After 31 years in practice, it’s been amazing to watch the children in our practice grow up and to have children of their own!
I always strive to provide my patients with state-of-the-art dental services. That is why I have worked to become a certified Invisalign® Premier Provider and continue to build on my knowledge base with continuing education through Invisalign’s course offerings.
My team is an extension of my practice philosophy, and I couldn’t practice dentistry and deliver the standard of care our patients have come to enjoy without them. Each member of my team contributes in their own unique way to make our office a productive and enjoyable place to provide excellent dentistry.
Personal Life:
I was born and raised in Tacoma, and enjoy being a part of this community. Fircrest is a wonderful, close-knit town, and I am proud to serve the families who live here. At home, my family includes my wife and four wonderful children. I often see my patients at my kids’ activities, and enjoy bumping into them! My hobbies include golf, cycling, skiing, swimming, and playing music. I even used to be in a rock band!
My family and I have been heavily involved in a fundraising project called 4 Us for a number of years. They help to raise money to buy portable ultrasound machines for crisis pregnancy centers. It started locally and now has gone nationwide!
